Another Hike on the Red Mountain

So today my friend Erika and I hiked to the wash on the red mountain.
Here we are at the top of the wash, resting and enjoying each others company.

Here is the view from the top of the wash.

Me at the bottom of a kind of cave thing. There were a bunch of rocks on top of each other that made a kind of cave.

The view from about half way up.

Erika climbing around.

It was just another fun day hiking up on the red mountain.

View from the Top

So on Tuesday my friend Erika, her sister Jenny, and myself decided to go on a quest to reach the top of the Red Mountain in Ivins. It was a blast and totally worth the pain and anguish. I'll admit that when we first started the hike I didn't think that I was going to be able to make it, but we all pressed on and after an hour made it to the top of the Red Mountain. At the top we decided to explore a bit. At the very top of the mountain I called my dad (we got really good service up at the top) told him to grab his binoculars and see if he could spot us. He called me back and yelled at me to get away from the edge. And just for your information I was a good ten feet from the edge, I'm terrified of heights and that was as close as I dared get. After some exploring we decided to have a little fun and jump off of a rock into the sand. It was a ton of fun, and I am very grateful that I made it up. The view from the top is exquisite and totally worth the pain. This was my third time hiking to the top of the red mountain and I will totally do it again, so if anyone ever wants to hike to the top count me in!
