My Future Husband

So the other day I was going through some old journals and I found this list that I made as a teenager. Remember in Young Womens one of the activities that we would do was to make a list of things that we are looking for in our future husbands, well I found my list and I thought I would share it for kicks and giggles. So here goes:
My future Husband:

• Taller than me (at least 6 inches or tallers)
• Strong enough to carry me
• Attractive
• Good at saving/budgeting
• Likes to go to plays/musicals

Do you think I have a lot of expectations? I started this list in high school and added to it over the years. About a year ago I decided to make me a new list a more realistic list.

• An active member of the church

• Loves Lord of the Rings and will play Lord of the Rings Trivial Pursuit with me
• Will surprise me once in a while
• Wants children
• Tells me he loves me everyday
• A good communicator
• Has a steady career

• Is willing to work on our relationship
• Will share the work, won't make me do everything
• Will take me out on a date once in a while
• Enjoys watching movies

I hope you all enjoyed my silly lists, they definitely made me laugh.
These lists may seem silly, but I think it's a great idea for every woman or man to have a list of traits they are looking for in their future companions. Some of the things I want may seem silly, but I'm a romantic and I love the idea of a man who can carry me in his arms.
To be completely honest, what I'm looking for is Mr. Darcy, at least my Mr. Darcy.

I really need to stop reading Jane Austen because she has given me unrealistic expectations for men. Anyway I hope you all enjoy and get a laugh, I know I did!

Book Review of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Last Battle

I just finished reading this wonderful series and just wanted to share my thoughts on the final book.

The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis

My rating: 5 of 5 stars


Oh my gosh! I love this book! Definitely my favorite book of the series! Not as much adventure or battles as some of the other books, but the symbolism of everything that happens is so powerful and I love the way that Lewis describes paradise or the "real" Narnia. All of the books in this series are so beautifully written. I think it's great that he ends the book by saying that their greatest adventures were only just beginning. I love how Lewis has titled the book "The Last Battle" because death can be the final battle that we fight. Seriously so amazing, I would definetly recommend that everyone should read this, especially those that are Christians because they are filled with religious symbolism and it is so beautifully expressed. Definitely a series that I will read over and over.

Another moment of boredom!

So the past few days I have been home alone in my apartment. I've been working full time at the library and then coming home to my empty apartment. So I've been really bored. I've had a lot of time to watch movies and sit in front of my computer screen. So since I've had a lot of time to waste, I've been surfing the internet. A popular site on the internet just happens to be youtube, and since there is a new Twilight movie coming out soon I decided to see if there were any new trailers. Well after watching the official trailer for Eclipse at least twice I found a few fan made trailers. I will admit that I was beginning to get annoyed at myself for wasting my time watching these stupid videos, and then I saw the Walmart commercial for the New Moon DVD and how you see these two girls and their mom watching New Moon and the girls are mouthing "I love you Edward" and I realized how pathetic women are today. We want this unrealistic love. Since I've had a lot of time this week, I've been writing, and all that I seem to write are love stories. I am a horrible romantic, I can't really help myself, I want to fall in love like every other girl, but it just hasn't happened for me yet. I've also noticed that the man of my dreams is only a figment of my imagination. The man of my dreams is 6 foot 6, Dark brown hair, blue eyes, preferably has a British accent, but I know he doesn't exist. That is why we read though isn't it. We can live these fantastic lives by reading. I love to read because it takes me to a world unlike the one that I'm currently living in. Back to my original point, it is fine to read the Twilight books, and fall in love with Edward, but he is a fictional character. FICTIONAL! Let's just face the fact that no matter what there will never be an Edward Cullen, or an Edward Darcy for that matter. There is my opinion on the matter. I hope everyone has a great weekend. I'm not bitter, I promise, maybe a little tired. I will say that I am bitter toward the people who constantly ask me if I'm dating anyone and when I say no, they blame me like it is my fault. If I had the opportunity to date I would, but apparently I'm not good enough for any guy, (Okay now I am being bitter). Just for all of those who like to ask me if I am dating anyone, no I am not, and it is not my fault. Besides I don't think that I'm ready to date at the moment, and it is NOT my fault. Okay I think that is all I have to say. Oh yes, I just want everyone to know that I have already pre-ordered New Moon, and am very excited to watch it again!

I'm bored!

I've decided that some of the best times to post blogs are when you are supposed to be doing homework, but because you have been doing homework for the past three to four hours your brain is beginning to wander off or if you are like me you just try to avoid doing your homework for as long as possible. Like right now I should be working on a five to six page paper for my Literature and Culture class, but instead I have been commenting on everyone's blogs or writing down a post about nothing. So today I was listening to Rick Springfield's song Jessie's Girl, and I realized that as I was singing a long with the song these were the words that I was actually singing. I would like to thank my cousin Ethan and his wife Libby for the inspiration behind this song! And bytheway, I did change the words, mainly just the ones in the chorus. The original line is I wish that I had Jessie's girl and I changed it to I wish that Jessie was my girl, etc.

The magic of being bored!

So I was bored again, and I had just finished listening to Eclipse, the third book to Twilight, and I've been wanting to see what I would look like as a vampire. Hence the pictures. Now, I'm up for any critiquing so let me know what you think. I think that I will look cooler if I do it with my hair down, and get me some either black or gold colored contacts. This is just a practice round so that when Twilight the movie comes out I can go as a vampire. Please let me know if you think that I should do anything different. Go ahead and laugh, I know that I am obsessed!!

I think that it is funny that the majority voted that I was a better Jareth the Goblin King than David Bowie. I actually thought that I looked very funny. Anyway, thanks for voting everyone!! My next make up project is to make myself like one of the vampires from the Twilight series. This should be interesting!
