Book Review of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Last Battle

I just finished reading this wonderful series and just wanted to share my thoughts on the final book.

The Last Battle (Chronicles of Narnia, #7)The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh my gosh! I love this book! Definitely my favorite book of the series! Not as much adventure or battles as some of the other books, but the symbolism of everything that happens is so powerful and I love the way that Lewis describes paradise or the "real" Narnia. All of the books in this series are so beautifully written. I think it's great that he ends the book by saying that their greatest adventures were only just beginning. I love how Lewis has titled the book "The Last Battle" because death can be the final battle that we fight. Seriously so amazing, I would definetly recommend that everyone should read this, especially those that are Christians because they are filled with religious symbolism and it is so beautifully expressed. Definitely a series that I will read over and over.

Bloody Mary, Gentle Woman

Sorry I haven't had much to blog about so I thought that I would post my review of one of the books that I have had to read for my Creative Nonfiction Writing class. So here it is:

Bloody Mary: Gentle WomanBloody Mary: Gentle Woman by Frances G. Reinehr

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I had to read this for my Creative Nonfiction Writing class. It is a really good book, and an easy read. It took me like two hours to read. I liked that they were able to tell the real story about Mary Partington. She was such a sweet woman who many people didn't understand. It was an interesting story.

Dracula: Book vs. 1931 movie

OH MY HECK!!! If anyone has ever seen the 1931 movie version of Dracula you will know that it is hilarious! My friend Kim and I watched it together on Monday Night and all we did was laugh. It was nothing like I expected it to be. I read somewhere that none of the movie adaptions of Dracula were close to the book. Let me just say that even having read the book this movie was freaking confusing. The characters were mixed up, the plot was chopped up and mixed around, and the acting was grotesque. I admit that I was afraid to watch the movie at first because I scare easily which is why I made Kim suffer through it with me. However, it was the cheesiest and funniest movie I've seen in a while. So if you want a good laugh I recommend renting the 1931 Dracula and trust me you will laugh!

"I vant to suck your blood"

So I just finished a really good book titled Dracula by Bram Stoker. I will admit that I read it because it is about vampires, (Twilight did kind of have some part in my reason for reading this book) and also it is a classic and I love reading the classics. Let me just say that I really enjoyed the book; however, it did scare the crap out of me a few times. Those of you who know me really well know that I don't do well with "Scary". Heck the scariest movie I've ever seen was "Lady in the Water" and that scared me for weeks. So to have me read a book like Dracula was odd for me. It took me a bit longer than I had hoped to read it, that was mainly because I was too scared to continue reading it, but I was so intrigued by the story that I had to keep going.
I have now finished reading it and I'm going to say that it was a very enjoyable reading experience. It has a different writing style than the norm because it is written in the forms of journal entries and letters, so you see what is happening from different characters points of view. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone. It does have plenty of scary and creepy parts but overall it is a great story and it has some great themes in it. Now I am going to try and pluck up enough courage and rent the old 1931 black and white version of Dracula. I'll let you know what I think of the movie!

I'm finished with Breaking Dawn!!

So I know how you all love to hear about me and my obsession with the Twilight Saga. So I'm just warning you that this is another one of those posts. I finished Breaking Dawn about a week ago, and it was so good! I read it in two days. I got it early Saturday morning and finished it late Sunday evening. I swear that I felt every emotion as I read it. I'm not going to ruin anything for those who have not read the book yet, but if you liked the first three I would definitely read the last and final installment of the saga. Now that I have finished the book all I have left to look forward to is the movie. I'm very excited and if you have not already noticed it I have a countdown for the movie on my blog now. I would love to hear what you guys think of the book so let me know! I'm just going to say right now that I was very happy with the way the book ended. I knew it was going to be a happy ending, that is so Stephenie.
