Cabbage and Pork Soup

Another soup recipe. This time I needed to get rid of the cabbage that I got from my bountiful basket. So after some searching I found this recipe at Betty Crocker. If you want the exact recipe and not my modified version go here.
1 pound boneless country-style pork ribs, cut into 1-inch pieces
About 2 cups sliced carrots
About 1 cup chopped celery
1 medium potato, peeled and cut
1 medium onion, chopped
4 cups chopped cabbage (about 1 medium head)
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
4 cups water
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
4 chicken bouillon cubes
1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes, undrained

Mix all ingredients in 3 1/2- to 6-quart slow cooker.
Cover and cook on low heat setting 8 to 9 hours (or high heat setting 4 to 5 hours) or until pork and vegetables are tender.
It might look a little weird but it is delicious. Don't judge something by what it looks like. ;)

Sounds interesting:)

I have an excellent recipe for coleslaw if you are interested.

Also, do you remember the macahettis that your grandma and granny used to make? Those have cabbage and ground beef and they are super yummy! I have that recipe too.

Looks yummy, but I have to be careful about my cabbage intake. Can't do my cabbage soup anymore unless I want to feel yucky the rest of the day!
